We have new #1 baby names! For a long time, year after year, the top baby names have been Sophia and Jackson. But this past year, in 2019, Emma and Liam made it to #1! When looking at the baby name for 2020, we’ve noticed that TV shows, the Royal Family, and short boy names and short girl names are really climbing the charts compared to 2019. So to start, here are the most popular baby names of the past year.

Did your baby’s name make it on the list? Some people hope their child’s name is never in the top 100, while other parents don’t care as much. Choosing a name for your baby can be tough, so we hope this list inspires you!

After looking at trending names on other sources, we predict more international names climbing the charts and pop culture to remain strong for inspiration in 2020.1 They probably won’t break through the top 5. Still, you’ll likely see them becoming more popular. So here are our predictions for rising baby names for 2020.
