Nina Spears is The Baby Chick® and the Founder and CEO of Baby Chick®. She began her career supporting families in 2011 after earning her baby planning certification and attending her first births that same year. Since then, she has earned her birth and postpartum doula certifications from DONA International, her childbirth educator certification from ICEA, her perinatal nutrition expert certification through The Professional Perinatal Nutrition Program, and her infant massage instructor certification from Loving Touch, among others.

Early in her career, one of Nina’s birth doula clients affectionately referred to her as “the baby chick — the ‘chick’ who works with moms and babies.” The nickname stuck and later inspired the creation of Baby Chick, which has grown into a trusted resource for modern mothers seeking evidence-based education and support.

Over the past 15 years, Nina has supported more than 800 families and attended over 350 births, guiding parents through pregnancy preparation, labor and birth, and the postpartum period. Her practical, evidence-based approach helps women feel informed, confident, and supported as they prepare for one of life’s biggest transitions.

Nina is the author of The Baby Chick Guide to Positive Pregnancy (published by Jossey-Bass), a modern monthly pregnancy guide designed to help expecting mothers prepare physically, mentally, and emotionally for pregnancy, birth, and early motherhood.

She is also the creator of the SOAR Pregnancy & Birth Prep Challenge, a step-by-step childbirth program that helps expecting mothers feel strong, knowledgeable, and prepared throughout pregnancy and birth.

Through Baby Chick, Nina shares expert guidance with millions of parents through educational articles, podcasts, social media, digital programs, and speaking engagements focused on pregnancy, birth preparation, postpartum recovery, and maternal wellness.

Nina lives in Houston, Texas, with her husband and their two beautiful children.
