Baby Planner – Doula – Educator – Newborn Care Specialist – Mother

Nina has been working with expecting and new moms as a baby planner, birth doula, postpartum doula, childbirth educator, newborn care educator, and infant massage instructor for the past 8 years. She has supported over 250 families during their labors and births and has assisted over 500 families from pregnancy to parenthood. She once owned a doula agency in Houston, TX for 5 years that at one point had up to 12 doulas catering to thousands of families all over the greater Houston area. Nina decided to close that agency after the birth of her son in 2017. She now works for Baby Chick, a pregnancy and motherhood resource for the modern mom, she continues to support families as a baby planner, doula and educator, and raises her son full-time with her loving husband.

As an experienced and respected professional in the pregnancy and baby world, Nina has worked with many different companies and has been hired to travel all over the country to speak, host and moderate parenting events, campaigns, and video series for new parents. It is her joy to help families and provide encouragement and education to parents everywhere.

Nina believes that every woman deserves support throughout every stage of pregnancy and motherhood. She hopes that through her site and services she’s able to empower even more women through each exciting chapter of pregnancy and parenthood.

A baby planner is a maternity consultant who provides education, support and resources to expecting and new families. She has training and experience in supporting expecting and new parents and tailors each family’s experience to meet their budget and lifestyle needs and wants. Not sure what you need in your baby’s nursery? Nina will come to your home, go over your nursery theme, find specific products that work for your family that you’ll need for baby and help you stock it so it’s ready for baby’s arrival.

Birth Plan Creation

The best thing to do for labor and delivery is to educate yourself on the options that are available to you. Sit down with Nina as she goes over every option and scenario for your labor and birth. She will then create a custom birth plan for you.

Postpartum Plan Creation

Not only is it important to plan for childbirth, it is also just as important to plan for parenthood. Postpartum (the first 12 weeks after delivery) can be tough and exhausting. Have a meeting with Nina about creating a postpartum plan for your family and she will customize one for you.

DOULA CARE

BIRTH DOULA CARE

A birth doula is a trained professional who provides continuous physical, emotional and informational support to a mother and her partner before, during and immediately postpartum to help the mother achieve the healthiest, most satisfying experience possible.

Nina has been attending births since 2010 and has supported women through all types of births; home births, birth center births, hospital births, VBACs, twin births, high risk and low risk births, medicated and un-medicated births and more. Nina believes that labor and birth is different for every woman and should be the way that you want it. She’s here to support and advocate for all families to have the labor and birth they want.

PACKAGE INCLUDES

(3) 1-hour prenatal visits

These visits are for you and Nina to get to know each other better. They help her have a better understanding of what your goals and wishes are for your labor and birth, and how she can best support you during your pregnancy, labor and birth.

Phone/Text/Email Support

Throughout pregnancy and up to 6 week postpartum, Nina is available to answer any questions that you may have and will be your sounding board should you need someone to talk to. 

24/7 On-Call

This begins at your 37th week of pregnancy up until you have your baby. Nina will have on-call child care available at this point and will make sure that she is always available via phone should you be in labor and need her.

Continuous Labor Support

Once you have reached active labor and need Nina, she will meet you where you are (whether at home or the hospital) and will stay with you until baby arrives—whether that is 3 hours or 33 hours. She has helped and advocated for many families so she has the knowledge and experience to support you, your family, and your special wants and wishes.

Immediate Postpartum Support

Nina will stay with you and your family up to 2-hours post-birth to provide immediate postpartum support. She will help with taking pictures (if you’d like), documenting what happened during the labor and birth, helping with baby’s first latch, and more.

Postpartum Visit

Within the first two weeks after delivery, Nina will come to your home to check on you and your baby. Together you will discuss the birth, how you are recovery and feeling, and Nina will answer any questions and provide information and resources that are available to you.

PRICE: $2,000

*Half paid upon signing contract and other half due at 37 weeks.

POSTPARTUM DOULA CARE

A postpartum doula is a trained professional who provides continuous physical, emotional and informational support to a mother and her partner during the first 12 weeks after childbirth to help the mother achieve the healthiest, most satisfying parenthood experience possible.

Nina has supported over 300 families as a postpartum doula over the past 8 years. Her ultimate goal is for you to enjoy your transition into parenthood and to feel less overwhelmed and anxious as you learn and get to know your baby.

Breastfeeding Support

    • What positions you can do
    • Getting a good, deep latch
    • How to use your pump
    • How to properly store and prepare frozen milk

Bottle-feeding Support

    • Washing and sanitizing baby bottles
    • Logging baby’s feeding (amount, how often, etc.)
    • Preparing formula correctly

Light Housework/Tidying

    • Doing baby’s laundry and putting baby clothes away
    • Washing and putting away dishes
    • Taking out the trash
    • Straightening up the house – fluffing pillows and putting things away

CHILDBIRTH CLASS

Whether you’re delivering your first child or fifth, childbirth classes can help you prepare to meet the challenges of labor and delivery. Just like every baby is different, so is every birth. The goal of this class is to reduce your fear by equipping expecting parents with the information they need to make informed decisions for this birth. Nina tailors each class to the parents’ specific needs and wants of this pregnancy and this baby so whether you’re trying to achieve a VBAC or an un-medicated birth, or a vaginal birth with twins, this class if for you.

The class provides information on third trimester health, the signs and stages of labor, comfort techniques, involvement of the labor partner, and so much more. Couples will also be introduced to childbirth procedures, anesthesia and other pain medication options, cesarean birth, medical interventions and what to expect after delivery, including routine newborn procedures.

Time: 3-4 hours

Price: $300

NEWBORN CARE CLASS

This helpful class for new parents focuses on the care of a newborn infant. A range of topics are discussed: new family changes, breast/bottle feeding, umbilical cord care, safe sleep tips, babywearing, when to call the doctor and comfort techniques for a crying newborn. Time is also spent practicing basic newborn care such as swaddling, diapering and bathing your infant.

Time: 3-4 hours

INFANT MASSAGE CLASS

An infant massage class is a fun way to learn how to soothe your baby, relieve tummy upsets, learn to understand your baby’s non-verbal language and more. The easiest way to learn how to massage your baby is in an in-person class. The strokes and styles of massage are easier to grasp when demonstrated. Pressure, rate, rhythm, the length of the massage, respect, bonding, why babies cry, babies’ body language, relaxation, and parent empowerment are some of the skills and topics Nina will cover. Infant massage is simple, easy to learn and effective!

Time: 1-2 hours
