As our listeners know, Mary Alice and I have both recently given birth to baby girls! Mary Alice gave birth in December 2020, and I gave birth in February 2021. We are both in the thick of postpartum, and we want to share with all of YOU what you may expect during the postpartum period. There are numerous changes, not only physical but also emotional.

Many expecting women prepare for childbirth but are less prepared for postpartum life. By sharing our experiences and common symptoms as we de-mystify this fragile time, we hope more women can feel more confident as they enter new motherhood. Here’s everything you need to know about and what to expect during the postpartum period.

Since then, she has earned her birth and postpartum doula certifications from DONA International, her childbirth educator certification from ICEA, her perinatal nutrition expert certification through The Professional Perinatal Nutrition Program, and her infant massage instructor certification from Loving Touch, among others.
