Every parent wants their child to thrive. Along with keeping them active and challenging them cognitively, serving our kids healthy, well-rounded meals are important, as we all know. As parents, we are the gatekeepers to the foods in our kitchen and are responsible for our children’s nutrition. But this can be a real challenge with picky eaters.

My son used to be the best eater, but things changed once he turned three and a half years old. Before he would eat anything we gave him. He’s now 4-years-old and trying to get him to sit and eat a real meal and not just want snacks all day has been a challenge. With the new year, we’re focusing on our family’s diet. Something important to me is finding a kids multivitamin that I trust and that my son would enjoy taking. Thankfully, we’ve found one and it’s Ritual Essential for Kids Multivitamins 4+. It checks all of my boxes as a parent and my son actually asks for it without being prompted, which is a huge testament to the product in itself. Here is our experience and what we think about it.

What I was looking for in a kid’s multivitamin.

Now that my 4-year-old has become a pickier eater, we’ve decided to make some changes in our household. We’re cutting down on pre-packaged snack options and are reducing the amount of sugar he has in his diet. But I know that no matter how much I try to clean up his diet, a good multivitamin is still important for him to take. It helps fill the gaps of key, essential nutrients that he may not be getting enough of throughout the day from his meals.*

There were a few things that I was looking for when trying to find a kids multivitamin that my son would want to take:

1. It needs to be a gummy.

Anything that I have to smash up, have him swallow as a pill form, or have him drink has not been the easiest. I’ve had to hide some of them in his food, which is an extra step for me. And sometimes, adding vitamins to his food makes him no longer want to eat that food. Then not only is he not taking his multivitamins, but he’s also not eating his meal—not good. I knew that the only way for my son to take a multivitamin voluntarily was for it to be a gummy.

2. It needs to be sugar-free.

If you look at the kids vitamins that are gummies, you will be shocked at the sugar contents contained in each. I’m already trying to remove unnecessary sugar from my son’s diet and a multivitamin (in my opinion) should not include it. I knew that there had to be a good option that did not contain sugar.

3. It can’t contain artificial flavors or colors.

Unfortunately, there are a lot of vitamins offered that we don’t know what all is inside of them. And that means some of them can contain unwanted ingredients. I needed to find a vitamin with traceable ingredients—non-GMO that doesn’t use artificial flavors or colors.

4. It must taste good.

Since I want a gummy kids multivitamin without sugar, I knew this would be the challenge. If the flavoring is off, I know my son will fight me on taking it. His multivitamin needs to be tasty without sacrificing the quality of the vitamins.

After having my daughter, I was already taking Ritual’s Postnatal Multivitamin, so when I saw that they had a Kids Multivitamin, I knew I had to check them out. After doing my research, I thought their multivitamin could be a perfect option for our son.

I love how it’s a 3-in-1!

When looking at Ritual’s Essential for Kids Multivitamin 4+, I loved seeing that it is a 3-in-1 multivitamin! It has a convenient formula that includes fiber, Omega-3 DHA, and key nutrients to help bridge the nutrient gaps in kids’ diets. I love that my son is getting all of these things in a daily dose of Ritual Kids Multivitamin gummies.

Traceable Ingredients

As I mentioned before, we don’t know what’s included in some vitamins or where their ingredients come from. I like that Ritual contains 12 key, traceable labeled ingredients in high-quality forms. Their ingredients include:

Nutrients in Ritual Kids Multivitamin
  • Vitamin C, Vitamin D3, and Zinc help support normal immune function.*
  • Their Choline, made from nature-identical tartrate, and 50mg of vegan Omega-3 DHA help support brain health.*
  • Vitamin D3, Vitamin K2, and Zinc help support bone health.*
  • And their dietary fiber and the prebiotic blend helps support good digestive health.*

It’s evident that they have formulated their sugar-free kids gummy multivitamins with picky eaters in mind.

Sweet Without the Junk

Unlike other bestselling kids gummy multivitamins on the market, each serving of Essential for Kids Multivitamin 4+ is formulated without sugar, sugar alcohols, stevia, or artificial sweeteners. It’s a vegan-friendly gummy multivitamin with a citrus-berry flavor made from natural lemon oil and raspberry extract. They naturally sweeten it with monk fruit!

The Real Test — The Taste Test

Once the package arrived in our mail, I was curious to see what my son thought about it. I opened the bottle and lifted the seal and the gummies smelled good—like an orange citrus scent. I then tried one for myself. They are like a sour and sweet lemony-citrus gummy. I also liked the consistency of it. It has a good chew—not too soft or too firm. Next was to have my son try it.

He was a little reluctant to try a new multivitamin at first. As soon as he tasted one, his face lit up with a smile and he said it was good!

He then requested the additional two gummies to complete his daily serving. I was thrilled! Since then, he has been asking for his Ritual Essential for Kids gummy multivitamins daily. I’m grateful to have found a good kids gummy multivitamin that meets my standards as a parent, tastes good to kids, and doesn’t compromise on quality.
