Every parent hopes and prays for their child to grow healthy and happy. We also hope that with our guidance, they will be respectful and loving to themselves and others. Everything we do as parents influences our children, and there’s a lot that we can do to set them up for success. Today’s guest has given us helpful tips and insight on what works!

Jess VanderWier is a Registered Psychotherapist, a mom of three, and the Founder of Nurtured First, formerly Our Mama Village. She started her company to support parents as they raise emotionally healthy little kids and care for their own mental health in the process. Nurtured First has helped thousands of parents learn how to understand their child’s behavior and parent in a way that feels good to them.

Since then, Nina has received her birth doula and postpartum doula certifications from DONA International, her childbirth educator certification from ICEA, her Hynobabies Hypno-Doula certification, and her infant massage instructor certification from Loving Touch, among other certifications. Nina has used her knowledge and expertise to teach and support families during their pregnancies, at their births, and throughout their postpartum journeys for over a decade.

Early in her career, Nina acquired her nickname from one of her birth doula clients, who lovingly referred to her as “The Baby Chick.” The “chick” who knows all about babies.…
