Giving your newborn baby a bath can be very intimidating. Lots of parents worry that they are going to do it wrong or miss spots or make the baby cold while giving them a bath which could make them sick. This is why finding a bathtub for your baby that you feel confident in using that is also safe is really important. There are a lot of great baby bathtubs out there and I’m sharing the best ones that I personally recommend and have used when bathing babies.
1. Blooming Bath | $39.99
This bathtub is fantastic–and adorable–for newborns and older to use. This flower is filled with soft, comfortable foam that can fit in pretty much any sink with your baby. It cradles your baby perfectly and keeps them comfortable. Once you are finished, throw it in the washing machine and you can also dry it on gentle cycle. And if you are traveling, it can easily be folded up for transport and storage.
2. 4moms Infant Tub | $59.99
The 4moms infant tub is really cool. It is the only tub designed to be used with running water, so dirty water flows out as clean water flows in. However, it can only fit in large farmhouse sinks or in the bathtub in your bathroom. It has a color-coded digital thermometer that shows you the water temperature so you know that the water is never too cold or too hot. This tub also comes with a snap-in rinse cup to help wash away the suds on baby. 🙂
3. Puj Tub | $44.99
The Puj tub is a very popular infant tub. It’s made of really soft foam that fits perfectly inside a pedestal sink to bathe baby. If you have a larger sink than a pedestal sink–I will warn you–it will collapse flat with baby sitting in it. The reason for that is the two sides snap together and create the perfect seat for baby, which makes bathing for baby so comfortable for you both when sitting in a pedestal sink. The sides then unsnap (they are magnets) and it can lay flat so the weight of baby can make it snap open if it’s too large of a sink. I highly recommend it for smaller sinks and for travel. It’s less than one-inch thick, so the Puj baby bathtub can store flat behind your door to dry.
4. Angelcare Baby Bath | $19.89
This baby bathtub is ergonomically designed for baby’s comfort. It has a soft mesh material that holds your baby in place while you wash, rinse and pamper him. It can fit in your larger sink or in your tub. I love that when you fill up the sink or tub with water that it let’s water in and keeps baby warm, but can easily drain as well. It also has a hook for convenient storage.
5. Skip Hop MOBY Bathtub with Sling | $30
This Skip Hop whale-shaped Moby tub grows with your baby through three stages: newborn, infant, and sitters. It offers Smart Sling support. The sling locks into two ergonomic positions: higher for full-body support and lower for seated support. This tub has dual layered mesh and comfort-edge construction which securely cradles baby from head-to-toe. I love that the slings adjusts to a cushioned seat that comfortably supports babies learning to sit up on their own. You can remove the sling when baby has mastered sitting up and easily bathe him in the spacious tub—no uncomfortable plastic bumps.
6. AquaScale Infant Bathtub | $69.99
This AquaScale tub is a 3-in-1 infant tub, digital thermometer AND digital scale. It records your baby’s weight, while making adjustments for water and movement. How cool is that?! The built-in thermometer automatically monitors the temperature of the water to ensure that the baby is comfortable. The specially designed unique ergonomic shape of the tub has been created to hold babies up to six months old in the perfect position and includes an anti-slip feature. I love that it also grows with your child. Once your baby has learned to sit up, the AquaScale easily converts to a toddler tub, accommodating children up to two years of age. The scale can be used with or without water.
7. Boon Soak Bathtub | $29.99
The Boon SOAK Tub also grows with your baby in three stages: newborn, infant and toddler, so you never need another tub for your growing baby. It is made of plastic and foam and has a unique contoured bath seat that can be positioned for your newborn all the way through toddlerhood so you’ll never need another baby tub. This tub also has a unique color changing drain plug that ensures the water is always at the perfect temperature.
8. Munchkin Safety Duck Bathtub | $16.99
This adorable inflatable padded tub makes bath time so much more fun. It makes it super comfy for babies and toddlers and is also perfect for travel since you can deflate it and re-inflate it. Also, the safety disc turns white whenever the water gets too hot. It’s recommend for babies that can sit up and older: 6 – 24 months.
9. Bath Sponge Cushion | $9.85
When you are bringing home your newborn, you’ll be told not to fully submerge your baby in the water until his or her umbilical cord has fallen off. It usually takes up to 14 days for the cord to fall off so you have two weeks to do sponge baths with your baby. I found this product to be super helpful during that time because it can keep your baby properly cradled and comfortable during his sponge bath, and then you can put it in the sink and submerge it to protect baby’s head and back when the cord falls off. Great little tool!
10. Summer Infant Bathtub | $24.99
These comfort bath seats are perfect for large sinks and for bath tubs. It offers a large cradling seat with a special bottom bolster to help stabilize your child. Features include larger frame for newborns and bigger babies, deluxe head support for infants, soft mesh sling seat, bolstered edges for added comfort and a two-position back rest. The fabric is also mildew-resistant, easy to clean, and dries quickly. We love that! It also folds flat so it is easy to store away or take with you when traveling.
