If you have a daughter between the ages of 4 and 12, there’s a good chance she’s been obsessed with KPop Demon Hunters just like mine. The songs have been on repeat in our house for months, so when I asked what theme she wanted for her birthday, “KPop” was an easy answer.
We hosted this party at home and wanted it to feel fun, manageable, and memorable. So I leaned all the way in. If you’re planning a KPop Demon Hunters birthday party, here’s exactly how we brought it to life and how you can recreate it too.
Key Takeaways
- Hosting at home can still create a high-impact themed party
- Simple DIY decor and printables can save time and money
- Activities double as party favors
- Hiring a character can elevate the experience
KPop Demon Hunters Birthday Party Ideas
Here are the details that helped bring this KPop Demon Hunters birthday party to life, from invitations to decor, activities, and food.
Invitation

I didn’t want to print, hand out, or mail invitations, so I found this cute birthday invitation I could easily download, edit in Canva, and send to friends via text message. It took me no time at all. Within minutes of purchasing it, I was able to make the edits and text all of my daughter’s friends’ moms to invite them to her birthday party.
What’s nice about having a digital invitation is that you can easily edit it. For example, we first were planning this to be an afternoon birthday party, but when we found out that the “Rumi” we wanted to have come to our party was only available in the morning, I was able to quickly make that change on the invitation and resend the invites with the new time to her friends. I was very happy with this purchase.
Create a Fun Party Entrance

I always find it helpful when the party host places some balloons or some type of decor out front so you can easily find the house where the party is. Sometimes it’s difficult to find the address numbers on houses, and big balloons are always the signal for “party over here!” But instead of tying some balloons at the front of our house, we decided to go with a large number “5” from Ballooms in our front yard.
We’ve used Ballooms for our son’s balloon-themed first birthday party and our daughter’s Frozen-themed third birthday party. Each time, we’ve had such a great experience with them. All you have to do is let them know your party date, time, and location, what you want (it could be letters or numbers), and what colors or design you prefer. We went with the colors that matched the party theme for her big number 5, and it looked great. My daughter felt super proud and special seeing it out front. It’s truly a fun tradition to do for the kids each year for their birthday. I also love that Ballooms delivers and installs it for you. It’s an easy thing that makes a big impact!
At the entrance, I always include a party poster to welcome guests. You can either put this out at your front door or have it inside as soon as they walk in. I put ours inside for this party since our foyer didn’t have any party decorations. This helped carry the theme through. And another tip, if you have stairs and you want to keep your guests downstairs, put your gift station at the bottom of the stairs. This ensures that little ones will not walk (or crawl) up there when the party is happening. This has always been such a helpful hack.
For this party, I went with this poster, this frame, and this easel (which I use these for every party). Again, this poster was super easy because I could edit it and then just sent it to a printer. The gift station sign came in this pack, which I printed out and framed in a 5″x7″ frame that I got from Walmart.
Outfits and Party Attire

I cannot fully express how excited my daughter was to dress up as Rumi for her party! Trying to find the right outfit that didn’t cost an arm and a leg was another story. I ordered one (the one she is wearing) from Etsy, but the quality looked nothing like the picture. So, I decided to order another one from another site. Unfortunately, it took longer than they said to arrive and turned out to be identical to the one we originally got. I was underwhelmed by the quality, but my daughter didn’t care. She was super excited, and I didn’t want to rain on her parade, so she wore it and loved it! (Since then, both retailers have taken down the outfit from their stores. I recommend checking on Etsy and reading reviews for another good option!)
To complete her whole look, I also bought these purple hair extensions to do the famous Rumi French braid in her hair. Another thing I got was this purple hair glitter to help slick back and add purpose to her hair to complete her hairdo. We also needed shoes that matched Rumi’s look, so we found these, which worked out great!

We wanted to dress up as a family, so we wore shirts to match the theme. I could have dressed up as one of the other demon hunters, but I wanted something easy and just dressed up as a fan. I wore a Huntrix t-shirt (mine is no longer available, but here is a similar one), my husband wore a Saja Boys t-shirt (here’s a similar one), and I found this Saja Boys t-shirt for my son. The designs on the backs of the shirts were also really cool.
Party Decor and Backdrops

Decorating for this party was one of the most fun parts and really helped bring the theme together.
We hosted the party in our main living room, which is open to our kitchen and eating area. In the living room, we moved the couch out so we could have enough room for dancing and their table for eating. I also added a few signs: one over the mantle that said “Happy Birthday” that I got from Target, and another from Etsy that was perfect for the theme, “I’ll be shining, like I’m born to be.”
Flowers and balloons are also always great decor items for a party. I added some real flowers in vases and some faux flowers around the house, and had two balloon backdrop stations. We love a good photo opportunity!

I wanted a spot where friends could take a fun picture, so I bought these arched backdrop stands and this light purple cover and sequin purple cover for the background. Then, I added this fabulous balloon garland that I bought on Etsy. (I ordered the 10ft long one with all the extra add-on balloons they offer to complete the look.) It had super easy instructions and took a lot less time to put together than I thought. I highly recommend having an electric balloon pump and the tying tools to help tie the balloons. The balloon garland kit has everything else you need! I thought it came out really good for it being made by me.

I also had another backdrop at the party near the table where the girls ate. You can probably tell this one was professionally done because it was! 🙂 The talented team from Ballooms put this balloon garland together and had the arched backdrop with it. When they came to deliver the front yard “5” sign, they also came and set this up inside the house. It was gorgeous! They seriously do incredible work. Go check out Ballooms!
Activities & Entertainment

We wanted the girls to stay engaged and have fun from the moment they arrived.
As soon as her friends arrived at the party, I walked everyone to the main area and showed them that we had a craft ready for them — bedazzling microphones! We knew that there was going to be a lot of singing and dancing at this party, so we had to have custom bejeweled microphones for the girls to sing with. It made for a great activity that the girls loved and a fun party favor! Here are some similar microphones I ordered. And here are the gem stickers that made it really easy to peel and stick. (I put this disposable tablecloth on our table to keep everything matching the theme and for easy clean up.)

At the table, we also had temporary KPop tattoos for the girls to put on or take home as a favor.

And then, to really make the party extra special, we hired “Rumi” from Fairest of All Parties to celebrate with us! She stayed with us for an hour and took pictures with the girls. Rumi also read a story to them about the KPop Demon Hunters, sang and danced with them, sang ” Happy Birthday, ” and watched my daughter blow out her birthday candles. She even gave my daughter a “backstage pass” lanyard and made her an honorary Demon Hunter. To say that was the highlight of my daughter’s day is an understatement. Rumi was the biggest hit, and all of the girls thought they were hanging out with a star! I’ve used Fairest of All Parties for my daughter’s 3rd birthday (Elsa & Anna), 4th birthday (Cinderella), and now 5th birthday (Rumi). I can’t recommend them enough.
Having a special guest like this at the party makes it even nice for the parents. It allows us to be able to relax and chat while the girls are entertained by someone they admire.
Party Food and Snacks

Because our party was in the morning from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., we had lots of light bites and snacks along with treats. We made a tray of meats, cheese, and crackers, and another tray of skewered fruit.

Since it was during brunch time, we also had donut holes for guests to enjoy.

I also made a little popcorn station and bought some Boom Chicka Pop Kettle Corn popcorn and taped this bag label design on each bag. The printable also allows you to make your own popcorn bags, but I didn’t have a crimper for the bottoms, and I thought this worked out just fine.

For another snack, I bought some GoGo Squeez applesauce pouches and made labels of Dr. Han’s drink. I just asked my local UPS Print Store to print them out with a sticker back. Doing this made it easy to stick them onto the pouches. I thought the girls would think it was too funny that they were also drinking what Rumi had in the movie.
Another thing I bought were these KPop cup of noodles labels. I ultimately decided not to use them because I thought ramen noodles didn’t make sense for a morning party. They could be really cute for the right party!

After all those bites, I figured everyone would be thirsty, so we set up a soda pop station. I bought different flavors of Poppi soda and stuck fun labels on each. Again, I had the UPS Print Store print them with an adhesive back, so it made the application easy. They also printed all of the food signs for each station, which I got from this pack, and bought multiple of these frames.
Cake and Party Favors

For the cake, we used a local baker, Flour Gals Bakery. She did a four-layer confetti cake with the colors of the KPop theme. She also added the disco balls and stars herself. When I picked it up, I topped it with candles, of course, and this custom cake topper. I thought it came out so cute!

As another party favor, I ordered these cute cookies from the same baker, and they were delicious! She did such a great job. We had cookies designed like the Demon Hunters (Rumi, Zoey, and Mira), Derpy the cat, the number 5 with balloons, Lily’s name, a Soda Pop can that said “My little Soda Pop,” and a microphone. I always try to give party favors that are food or something that families will actually use. I try not to give them little knick-knack toys that will probably get tossed. Our guests loved these, too!
Kids Table Setup and Tablescape

For the kids, I wanted to have a designated space where they could sit and eat their food and cake. I borrowed two fold-out kid tables and covered them with this disposable tablecloth. For each kid’s place setting, I bought this set with gold cups. On top, I added these fun “demon blockers” glasses for them to wear. (Another party favor!) I actually already owned the fold-out chairs, but you can always rent them.

It was such a fun birthday party that our daughter and all of her friends absolutely loved, and one we’ll always remember. I hope this gives you ideas and inspiration to create your own KPop Demon Hunters celebration.
