One thing I’ve noticed over the past few years is that bottle washers are quickly becoming some of the hottest baby products on the market. I’ve had the opportunity to test several of them, and as a former exclusive pumper, I can definitely see why.

As a baby planner and doula for the last 15 years, I’ve supported hundreds of families through pregnancy, postpartum, feeding journeys, and those tiring newborn months.

One thing I see often is that new moms and dads aren’t always overwhelmed by feeding routines, though that can absolutely be its own big adjustment with lots of learning curves. What I see more often is that they’re overwhelmed by everything else that comes with it.

Feeding a baby is a big job and already a lot to figure out as a new parent, but it’s not just about feeding the baby. If you’re pumping or using formula, it’s also the bottles, the pump parts, the constant washing… all while trying to recover, take care of yourself, and learn this new little human.

Recently, I had the opportunity to test the Papablic SafeguardPlus Bottle Washer with one of my clients, and a few things immediately stood out to me compared to other bottle washers that I think parents should know.

What Is the Papablic SafeguardPlus Bottle Washer?

Why I Recommend the Papablic SafeguardPlus Bottle Washer to My Clients

The Papablic SafeguardPlus Bottle Washer is a 5-in-1 system designed to:

  1. purify your water
  2. wash your baby’s bottles and your pump parts
  3. sterilize the items
  4. dry them
  5. and then hygienically store the feeding equipment afterward

Most bottle washers are designed to properly wash 4 bottles, but this one can hold up to 8 bottles plus pump parts and accessories at once, making it especially helpful for families who are exclusively pumping, combo feeding, formula feeding, or constantly rotating through bottles throughout the day.

After testing this bottle washer in real life with one of my clients, there were several features that really stood out to me.

The First Thing That Stood Out to Me: Water Purification

After testing several bottle washers over the past few years, this was the first one I’ve used that actually thought about the water washing our babies’ bottles and included a built-in water purification system as part of the cleaning process. I was immediately intrigued.

Most bottle-cleaning systems focus on washing, sterilizing, drying, and storage; a 4-step system. But Papablic added another step that made me pay closer attention to the water itself. And the more I thought about it, the more sense it made.

I think we spend so much time thinking about which bottles we choose, which soap we use, and how often we sterilize, but the water doing the cleaning is part of the process too, and it deserves consideration.

When I received the Papablic SafeguardPlus, I learned that it’s designed to soften water and help reduce minerals and impurities before the cleaning cycle begins. I absolutely love this because it’s something I really hadn’t seen other bottle washers paying attention to yet.

Left: Developed visible limescale and mineral buildup over time
Right: The built-in filtration system in the Papablic SafeguardPlus softened the hard water and removed impurities from the tap water.

Depending on where you live, water can vary significantly. Some households deal with hard water, mineral buildup, spotting, or other impurities that can affect cleaning performance over time. And as a mom and baby professional, I always tell my clients that it’s not just what you feed your baby. It’s also how you care for and clean the feeding equipment you’re using every single day.

That’s why I appreciated that Papablic thought about the entire cleaning process instead of only focusing on the wash cycle itself.

I Tested the Filtration System Myself

Since the filtration system is one of the biggest differentiators of the Papablic SafeguardPlus to other bottle washers on the market, I wanted to see it in action myself.

I used a TDS (Total Dissolved Solids) meter, and I compared the water before and after it passed through the filtration system. The difference in the readings was very impressive and showed that the filter was actively reducing dissolved solids before the cleaning cycle even began.

While a TDS reading doesn’t identify specific contaminants, it does demonstrate that the filtration system is working and helping improve the quality of the water being used during the cleaning process. For me, that reinforced why this feature is so important in the first place.

The Cleaning Performance Seriously Impressed Me

Another thing I really loved was the 360° deep cleaning system.

Papablic bottle washer

A lot of bottle washers use upward spray spouts where you place the bottles directly on top so water sprays upward into them. But with the Papablic SafeguardPlus, I immediately noticed that the cleaning system felt much more thorough overall. I wasn’t worried about whether certain areas of the bottle were actually getting washed or whether there would still be residue hiding somewhere. And I was right! Everything came out extremely clean.

No blind spots. No cloudy film. No leftover milk residue. Even the smaller pieces and accessories at the top came out looking spotless.

I was also really impressed by the drying performance. Bottles and pump parts came out fully dry and ready to use instead of needing additional drying time sitting on the counter afterward.

And the whole experience just felt easy. It was easy to load, simple to run, and after testing it several times, I quickly trusted the results. All of this matters when you’re exhausted and cleaning bottles and accessories multiple times a day.

In addition to washing and drying, the system is also designed to reduce 99.99% of common germs during the sterilization process. As someone who works closely with families during those vulnerable newborn months, I really appreciate products that help simplify cleaning routines while still providing that extra level of reassurance for parents.

It’s also aesthetically pleasing, which I know may not be the most important thing, but when something this large is living on your kitchen counter, it’s nice when it doesn’t look ugly or overly clinical.

I Was Impressed by How Much It Holds

Another thing that immediately stood out to me was the capacity.

This system can hold up to 8 bottles plus pump parts and accessories, which makes a huge difference for families who are exclusively pumping, combo feeding, formula feeding, or constantly rotating through bottles throughout the day. Exclusive pumping families especially tend to go through bottles and pump parts incredibly quickly.

Many bottle washers have a smaller capacity, but I see parents often trying to squeeze in far more. What I liked about the Papablic SafeguardPlus is that it’s actually designed to accommodate larger loads from the start.

As a former exclusive pumper myself, I know firsthand how quickly feeding equipment can take over your kitchen counters. Bottles somehow multiply overnight, and the constant washing can start feeling endless. It was one of the things my husband and I dreaded most during that time. I honestly would rather change all the poopy diapers than wash all the bottles and pump parts every day. So having a system for parents today that can handle a large load at once makes feeding life feel much more manageable.

My client, who is now using it, told me it feels like waking up to a little gift every morning: clean bottles and pump parts ready to go for the day.

We Put It Through a Real-Life Test

When my client and I initially tested the Papablic SafeguardPlus Bottle Washer, we intentionally didn’t go easy on it. We loaded it with heavily used and very dirty bottles, pump parts, and accessories because I wanted to see how it would perform in an everyday situation, not just with lightly rinsed bottles.

We ran a heavy cleaning cycle since these parts were DAYS-old dirty, and I was truly impressed by how extremely clean everything came out.

There was no visible milk residue, no cloudy film, no water spots, and everything looked super clean, dry, and ready to use immediately afterward. It honestly cleaned them better than I think I could have by hand.

I was also surprised by how little water it used for the amount it cleaned. If I had stood there handwashing all of those bottles and parts, I would have used far more water. Even the dishwasher would have used more. And that’s important because convenience is great, but parents still want these products to actually perform well and do a quality job. It’s for their baby, after all.

One Small Detail I Unexpectedly Loved

Why I Recommend the Papablic SafeguardPlus Bottle Washer to My Clients

One feature I noticed right away after it finished its cleaning cycles was the 72-hour hygienic storage mode.

With other bottle washers I’ve tested in the past, once you open the machine after the cycle finishes, the storage environment stops immediately. You hear the fan turn off. But with the Papablic SafeguardPlus, even if you quickly open it to grab a bottle, pump part, or pacifier, the fan continues running. That may sound like a tiny detail, but as someone who pays attention to how families actually use products in real life, I appreciated that immediately.

Parents will grab things from the bottle washer throughout the day, so I liked that the system seemed designed for real-life use instead of expecting parents to use it perfectly every single time. Those small design details are usually what separate a good baby product from a great one.

What About Filter Replacements?

One question I had while testing the Papablic SafeguardPlus was how often the filter needs to be replaced.

Papablic recommends replacing the filter approximately every 30 uses, though the timing can vary depending on your local water quality and how frequently you run cleaning cycles.

While that does add a small maintenance step, I still appreciate that the system is designed to actively filter and improve the water before it begins cleaning. For me, the added convenience and impressive design make the occasional filter replacement feel worthwhile.

Final Thoughts

Why I Recommend the Papablic SafeguardPlus Bottle Washer to My Clients

After testing multiple bottle washers over the years, the Papablic SafeguardPlus introduced features I hadn’t seen before and changed the way I think about bottle cleaning.

I loved that it wasn’t just trying to wash bottles faster. It considered the full process: the water, the washing, the sterilizing, the drying, and the storage afterward.

I was impressed by how thoroughly it cleaned heavily used bottles and pump parts, how little water it used during testing, and the design details throughout the experience. Most of all, I really liked that it seemed designed for how parents actually live.

This is one of those products that makes sense both as a mom and as someone who works with families professionally. It reduces mental load, simplifies routines, and helps parents feel more confident about how they’re cleaning their baby’s feeding equipment.

If you’re currently in the thick of feeding life and washing bottles feels endless, this is definitely a product I would encourage parents to consider. You can check it out for yourself and shop the Papablic SafeguardPlus Bottle Washer here.
