Mandy Moore is officially a boy mom!
The “This Is Us” star, 36, and her husband Taylor Goldsmith have welcomed the birth of their son, August Harrison Goldsmith. Nicknamed Gus, the Pisces baby is the couple’s first child.
Moore announced the news on her Instagram account Tuesday afternoon, sharing her son’s first public photo. While the picture doesn’t display August’s face, it shows him donning a blue onesie and highlights his rosy cheeks and adorable fingers.

“Gus is here,” Moore gushed in her social media announcement. “Our sweet boy, August Harrison Goldsmith. He was punctual and arrived right on his due date, much to the delight of his parents. We were prepared to fall in love in all sorts of brand new ways, but it goes beyond anything we could have ever imagined. M + T.”
Moore also took to her Instagram Story to reshare her post, adding the caption “Gus 💙💙💙💙💙💙.” Goldsmith, 35, a singer and guitarist for folk-rock band Dawes, shared an identical post to his own account.
On Sept. 24, 2020, Moore announced her pregnancy on Instagram with a sweet collage of black and white photos of her and Goldsmith embracing her baby bump. The caption read, “Baby Boy Goldsmith coming early 2021.”

In January 2021, Moore shared with Romper she wanted her son to grow up and become a reverent and remarkable young man.
“I want to raise an intelligent, feminist, loving, compassionate young man, who respects women, and who understands boundaries,” she told the publication.
In the article, she also shared her awe for her husband and his innate ability to be a dad.
“I think he’s been suited to be a father pretty much his whole life,” said Moore. “He’s been gearing up for this. Like in the morning, it’s funny, I’ll reach for my phone, and he’ll reach right for whatever baby book he’s reading.”
