Visiting Magic Kingdom: Everything You Need to Know

When you think of Disney World, chances are you immediately think of Magic Kingdom. The original park that opened as part of Walt Disney World Resort has been welcoming guests since 1971. With iconic spots like Cinderella Castle and a nostalgic Magic Kingdom ride like Peter Pan’s Flight or Pirates of the Caribbean, the possibilities are endless for what you can do in a day. Magic Kingdom Tickets

The pricing for Magic Kingdom tickets varies. You can purchase a single-day ticket or a multi-day ticket, with prices ranging from $109 to $189 for a single-day ticket depending on what day you plan to visit.²

When you visit Magic Kingdom or any Disney World park, you must make a Park Pass reservation in advance. A Park Pass reservation can be made online once you have a valid park, stating your intention to visit that park for the day.³

Magic Kingdom Hours

Magic Kingdom hours vary based on day and time of year, but typically the park will be open from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. This can change if a specialty ticketed event closes the park early to visitors, such as Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, so you will want to check the hours for the park before visiting.⁴

If you are staying on property at a Walt Disney World Resort hotel, you can take advantage of Early Theme Park Entry, which gives early access to the park 30 minutes before its official opening. Additionally, if you stay at a Deluxe Resort hotel, you can access Extended Evening Hours. Extended Evening Hours happen on select nights at select parks, giving guests of Deluxe hotels two additional hours in a park after it closes to everyone else. Magic Kingdom Transportation

Wondering how to get to Magic Kingdom? You have options, depending on where you come from! If you drive into Magic Kingdom, you park at the Transportation and Ticket Center, where you can take the monorail or ferry to Magic Kingdom. Here are your options for transportation:¹¹

Monorail

The iconic Walt Disney World Monorail System provides transportation to Magic Kingdom from the Transportation and Ticket Center (TTC), Disney’s Contemporary Resort, Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort, and Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa. The EPCOT Monorail also connects to the TTC, allowing guests to transfer to the Magic Kingdom Monorail.

Ferry Boat

From the TTC, guests can take a boat ride across the Seven Seas Lagoon to Magic Kingdom.

Bus

Complimentary Disney World bus transportation is available from all Disney Resort hotels to Magic Kingdom. Buses typically run every 20 minutes, starting approximately 45 minutes before the park opens and continuing until one hour after the park closes.

Water Taxi

Guests staying at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort, and Disney’s Wilderness Lodge can take advantage of the complimentary water taxi service to Magic Kingdom.

Minnie Van Service
