A few months ago, when Nurtured 9 reached out and asked if I would be interested in creating a custom pregnancy gift box with them, I was ecstatic! While pregnancy is such a joyous occasion, we all know that it can also be overwhelming. There is so much to do, think about, and consider as you’re growing your baby. What an incredible gift to give her a guide to what’s important and what to consider every step of the way. So when putting this box together, of course, I had to include my book in it. 🧡

I wrote The Baby Chick Guide to Positive Pregnancy after more than 15 years of supporting expecting families because I wanted women to have a resource that walks alongside them throughout pregnancy. I always describe it as having a baby planner and doula in book form. It takes you through pregnancy month by month, and week by week, and helps you understand what’s happening, what you can be doing now, what your partner can be doing right now, what questions you may want to ask your provider, and what you can start doing to prepare for what’s ahead.

Because there is a LOT to prepare for.

We talk about your changing body, nutrition, movement, mindset, your relationship with your partner, preparing for birth, getting ready for those early postpartum days, and more. There are journal prompts, affirmations, meditations, recipes, exercises, partner tips, checklists, questions to ask your provider, and resources you can actually use as you move through pregnancy. It’s basically everything that I go through with my baby planning clients that I wanted to share with all pregnant women.

That’s one of the reasons I love including the book in a gift like this. She can open the box when she first shares the news and continue using the book throughout her pregnancy. It’s not something she enjoys once and puts away. It’s there to support her through the months ahead.

2. Butterfields Ginger Raspberry Buds

Something that is super common to experience during pregnancy is morning sickness, also known as pregnancy nausea. It’s never fun, and women try just about everything to try to keep that sick feeling away. 3. Eucalyptus + Peppermint Shower Steamer

And speaking of morning sickness, I know that the scent of peppermint can really help relieve the feeling of nausea. I actually use peppermint oil all the time at births to help with this very thing, so I had to add this little spa moment to the box.

And that was really part of what I wanted this entire box to do. You don’t always need some huge self-care ritual. Sometimes it’s just making the shower you were already going to take feel a little more special.

Your skin is doing a LOT during pregnancy.

As your belly grows and your skin stretches, it can become tight and itchy, so keeping it moisturized and hydrated can feel so good. I had tested it before in one of Nurture 9’s other boxes we reviewed years ago, and knew I had to include it.
