As a work-from-home, exclusively pumping mama, trying to keep up with my daughter’s feeding needs is constantly at the forefront of my mind. At three months old, we both decided that she wasn’t going to breastfeed anymore. One reason is she has an extremely high palate and had a difficult time getting a good suction with her latch and transferring milk. She also doesn’t like to wait for my milk letdowns, so both issues would cause her to become frustrated while nursing, and she would stop after only a few minutes. Each feeding was a struggle, and she was only getting foremilk (not enough hindmilk) and was not gaining enough weight.

After seeing an IBCLC, going to a chiropractor for several adjustments, and doing daily exercises with her, I ultimately knew that the best option for us was exclusively pumping and bottle-feeding. But with pumping, I needed to make sure that my milk supply wouldn’t diminish and would be able to keep up with her demand. To help with this, I decided to try Majka since I heard many other mamas having success with their products.

But first, who is Majka?

Majka Lactation Bites

Majka — pronounced modge-kuh — is a company that empowers mothers with products that replenish their bodies and nourish their milk supply. They provide premium products to new moms that are natural, safe, and good for both mom and baby. Majka also takes the guesswork out of what’s safe for mom and baby because their products are non-GMO, free of preservatives and unnecessary ingredients, and are always of the highest quality.

I loved learning about how Majka came to be. The company was started by two moms who struggled with lactation (just like me), and they decided to create products that not only support mothers’ lactation but also fulfill the nutritional needs of moms. It’s nice knowing that Majka understands exactly how their customers feel because they, too, experienced the same struggles that we do as breastfeeding and pumping moms.

A Look at My Day with Majka

After a couple of weeks using Majka to help with my lactation needs, I saw good results in more areas than just my milk supply. Not only am I getting more per pump session, but I’m also getting better quality sleep which makes me feel more rested and I have less mood swings. Continue reading to learn more and see how I did it with the Majka products.

Breakfast —Lactation Overnight Oats

Majka Lactation Overnight Oats

As a mother, it can be difficult for me to find the time to make my own healthy breakfast in the morning. I was grateful to find Majka’s Lactation Overnight Oats since it’s an easy and convenient option that I can prepare the night before. And I love that it’s non-GMO, Fenugreek-free, vegan, Gluten-free, and wholefood based. Their benefits include:

  • Effective and researched galactagogues for increased milk supply
  • Antioxidants to promote overall well being
  • Fiber and beta-glucan fiber, a type of soluble fiber known to lower blood sugar, improve insulin resistance, and reduce cholesterol levels
  • Adaptogens like Ashwagandha to support healthy stress, cortisol levels, and immune function

All of the ingredients are approved by a lactation consultant and registered dietitian.

How I Prepare My Lactation Overnight Oats:

  • Get a mason jar and add ½ cup (1 serving) of their Lactation Overnight Oats
  • Pour 1 cup of almond milk
  • Add 1 tbsp of agave syrup
  • Put on the cap, shake to blend, and place it in the refrigerator to enjoy in the morning

I’ll then pour the Lactation Overnight Oats out in a small bowl in the morning and will add toppings. Sometimes I’ll add fruit, granola, extra agave syrup, chia seeds, coconut flakes, or walnuts. It’s a perfect way to start my day with a nutrient-dense meal that can also support my milk production.

Morning Drink — Vanilla Chai Lactation Booster

After my overnight oats, I’ll prepare my Vanilla Chai Lactation Booster with their shaker. This is one of my favorites because it’s so quick and easy, and I love a Chai latte. This is a perfect substitute.

This Lactation Booster is a delicious certified organic lactation supplement for breastfeeding moms looking for a safe and healthy boost in their milk supply. I like how I can easily prepare this beverage with one hand as I prepare to drop my son off at school or while I’m at home with the baby before the nanny arrives. The Majka shaker is super cute, sturdy, and spill-proof, and this booster drink has become a favorite!

Lunch — Protein shake

On really busy days — which feels like every day — I’ll make myself a protein shake with Majka’s Green Vanilla Nourishing Lactation Protein Powder. It’s designed to help increase and enrich your milk supply while also fighting postnatal depletion.

Protein is such an important nutrient for breastfeeding mothers. It is the nutrient that serves as the building block for muscle and tissue. Your body also uses protein to produce breastmilk for your growing baby. In fact, according to the Dietary Guidelines for Americans, breastfeeding moms need at least 65 grams of protein per day. The average sedentary man should eat about 56 grams of protein per day, and the average woman should eat about 46 grams. So that’s more protein per day compared to the average adult!

The easiest way to incorporate that much protein into my diet, especially since I’m busy working and taking care of my family, is to make protein shakes. Even on days when my diet may not be perfect, I can still make a quick protein shake with Majka’s Green Vanilla Nourishing Lactation Protein Powder to help to fulfill my protein and nutritional needs.

A good choice for mom and baby.

When I say protein shakes, it’s important to know that not all protein powders are created equal. When choosing a protein powder, you want to make sure you choose something safe and good for you and your baby. The Majka protein powder differs from others on the market because it offers more than protein. It is non-GMO, dairy-free, gluten-free, vegan, soy-free, has no processed whey protein, synthetic, or artificial sweeteners, has probiotics and lactation boosting herbs. It contains the nutrients to support your diet and nourish your milk supply.

Many other protein powders on the market contain artificial sweeteners, fillers, and thickeners. It’s obvious that the Majka protein powder was specifically created by mothers for mothers and takes you and your baby’s health into consideration. I also like that this protein powder is beneficial for those who are doing elimination diets and have removed products like dairy and soy from their diet.

On those busy days when I can’t prepare the best lunch option, I know that this shake is a perfect choice and will meet all of my nutritional and lactation needs.

Afternoon Snack — Lactation Bites

In the afternoon, at around 2:30 p.m., I need a pick-me-up snack. I will have already pumped three times at that point of the day, and my milk usually starts to dwindle in the late afternoon and evening pumping sessions. This is when I snack on Majka’s Lactation Bites.

Their Lactation Bites contain many stimulating ingredients that support a healthy milk supply. They’re a dense and tasty snack, so I usually eat two of them at this time to follow Majka’s recommendations: eating 1-2 bites an hour before nursing. This helps my 3:30 p.m. pumping session.

Nightly Drink — Digest & De-stress Magnesium Powder

After the kids are in bed and try to wind down for the day, I get myself a glass of water and pour in a scoop of Majka’s Digest & De-Stress Magnesium Powder. This powder is the only chelated and bioavailable magnesium and digestive enzyme blend on the market.

Majka DIGEST & DE-STRESS MAGNESIUM POWDER

It’s interesting because most women are deficient in magnesium due to their diet (food quality), poor digestion, or stress. And during pregnancy and breastfeeding, women’s magnesium levels are depleted. So, why is it good to restore our magnesium levels? It’s because it helps aid digestive regularity, relaxation, muscle recovery, and more. These are all things that I struggle with, and I was hoping it could help.

The Digest & De-Stress Magnesium Powder is a tasty antioxidant-rich berry blend that may help:

  • Relieve constipation and reduce bloating
  • Support morning sickness
  • Promote better sleep
  • Fight fatigue and stress
  • Support mood and brain function

My “pregnancy brain” now turned into “mommy brain” could really use it! It’s now become a little nightly ritual for me. I’ve found that I feel more relaxed and get more quality sleep at night. Also, my gut is now a bit more regular.

My Overall Experience

Over the past couple of weeks of taking Majka products, I can tell that I have more energy, feel a bit more rested (even with a 3.5-year-old and 4-month-old), and my milk supply has increased. I think better nutrition and better quality sleep because of their products have helped me with these issues. I’ve also noticed that I’m not “losing my cool” as much, which I think my toddler and husband can appreciate. (Protein deficiency can affect mood swings too!)

Regarding my lactation, I need all the help I can get to produce enough milk for my daughter. For moms who are experiencing low milk supply or who depend on pumping for most or all their baby’s feedings, as I do, every ounce counts! After three days of taking these products, I started noticing small changes, but after a couple of weeks, I have been pumping almost two extra ounces during my pumping sessions. I will say that these results were greater when I took all of these products throughout the day (like I shared) rather than just one Majka lactation supplement per day. This greatly increased my results. However, I want to mention that every mom responds differently to lactation supplements, and this is my personal experience.

What products does Majka offer?

Majka offers a wide range of products for mothers.

For nourishing lactation:

To help restore and replenish mamas:

For pregnancy and beyond:

They also offer great bundles and accessories too! I decided to try several of their products that I thought would best meet my needs as an exclusively pumping, work-from-home mom.

Why Majka?

As I mentioned, Majka creates quality products that are not just focused on lactation support. They focus on the whole mother and her overall health, which I love. Check out Majka and their products here to see which products are best for you and your motherhood journey!
