Yogurt is a delicious treat that is loved by many. Especially our kids! For baby’s first food, breakfast, a snack during playtime and before naps, even for dessert – it’s a healthier option and a family favorite.

Here at Baby Chick, we are huge fans of Stonyfield YoBaby yogurts. A few of the reasons are it’s the #1 pediatrician recommended yogurt for babies and kids 6 months to 2 years old, it contains tons of live active cultures, and they use PLA cups made from plants. Also, fun fact, did you know that it’s the first yogurt made especially for babies? It’s true!

One thing that many moms have mentioned that they struggle with concerning yogurt is the amount of sugar it can contain. Some kids dislike the taste of plain yogurt and prefer the flavored options such as vanilla and berry flavors. However, it’s not uncommon to find well over a dozen grams of sugar per serving in these flavored yogurts, even in your leading low fat brands of yogurt.

Because of this, Stonyfield announced last year that they’re making efforts to lessen their overall organic sugar content in all products by 25%-40%! That’s huge!! They’ve added to this new transition by also removing all added sweeteners from one of their YoBaby Yogurts: Banana Mango! And it just hit the shelves this March!

This is why we love Stonyfield – they listen to us moms. They truly care about what we desire, what we want for our babies, and strive to provide products that we not only love, but are also comfortable with.

They’re starting with this one YoBaby flavor, and even with less sugar, the Banana Mango is still as delicious as ever, with its creamy whole milk taste and probiotic benefits. Trust me, I’ve tried it. 😉 I can’t wait to give this to Liam next month when he turns 6 months old! I have a feeling it’s going to be a big hit with him. 🙂

As you may know, Stonyfield has always had plain, unsweetened yogurt recipes – however, some sugar is desired for many little ones to enjoy the taste. Their flavored varieties now have 9 grams or less of sugar in all of their cups, squeezers, and smoothies. (You can see that the Banana Mango only has 5 grams of total sugars. This is from the naturally occurring sugars that are from milk and fruit.) The smoothies and squeezers now have 25% less sugar, and the cups now contain 40% less sugar than leading low fat kids yogurt.

If your baby or kid loves yogurt, and if you love lower sugar levels, Stonyfield is a great option for your family. And with the Banana Mango now having no added sweeteners, it goes to show that this brand is making efforts in the health department that other brands don’t find important. And to us – that’s pretty sweet! Thanks, Stonyfield!
